The waterflow meter is pretty cool, it's priced right although I wish it was encased in metal as it's going to get quite a bit of abuse as I have it on the male end of the hose. It's all about restricting water to make the measurement, I haven't done testing with or without it yet but so far it doesn't seem to be too restrictive.
The Orbit water hose flowmeters (2) are connected to the two residential outside hose faucets for downline Orbit B-Hyve timers and controllers.
The Orbit water hose flowmeter digital LCD readout is a 4 numbers format with a max 999.9 gal, than the display will rollback to 000.0 gal for the total “Lifetime” history and the individual event usage.
The Orbit flowmeter is reset to 0.0 gallons (press both buttons) for the event and the history each evening before next morning watering cycle. This daily reset will then record the actual 24 hour watering cycle total water usage for the residential irrigation hose system, which delivers an average of 1500 gallons in a 2 day period, thus exceeding the flowmeter 999.9 gallons readout limit. The flowmeter daily readout gallons used is recorded each day with a photo.
Does orbit have a pushbutton procedure to increase the flowmeter readout display to 5 or 6 digits, greater 1000 gallons?
It is always nice to know how much water you are putting into the water tank on your RV especially if you only want a certain amount or you're having to pay by the gallon. This is the perfect solution.
