My old orbit controller died and I contacted customer service. They were excellent and I had new controller within a few days free of charge.

Works great once set up. This is a replacement unit for one that died after 1 year, same make/model. Will say that the replacement process was great and at no cost to me. They even covered the shipping costs.

3 defective units with. Customer service untrained and asked meaninglessquestions. Could only read and follow fist line of comments. Unable to read and address multi step issues.

Hello the reason I ordered one is because side my existing one stopped working a year after I bought it. I’ve been reading that this is an on going issue. I think I may go to the rain bird wifi that’s now cheaper than the orbit

I got the wrong controller, i needed to replace the hydro rain 12 station, i received the one with Wi-Fi as we don't have have wi-fi the B-hyve is not much use to me and i was told the B-hyve can not be exchanged.

It is easy to set up and manage with a phone or on the panel. Most importantly, the one purchased for me two years ago as a father's day gift did not work this spring. The motherboard had failed. I really appreciate the way this was handled and the unit was replaced in a timely fashion.

Very easy to program and use

The first unit I bought was defective. I received the replacement in Canada in 3 days. Customer service was first class. The people at the end of the line were very helpful and polite.
The B-hyve 6 is a replacement for a 5 zone 20+ year old sprinkler controller. I simply took the wires in sequence from the old module and wired them into the new one in sequence. I tested the B-hyve manually for each of the 5 zones and everything was normal. A word of caution is I set up a manual fixed schedule program for testing. If you graduate to the smart watering system don't forget to disable the manual program otherwise you will water twice.
The smart programming went well once I was able to establish a wifi connection. The bluetooth paired normally without any problems. I then used the app to set the parameters for each of the five zones. It is a fun exercise to input the parameters into the program. The only real unknown is the starting moisture content for the soil. Forty to 50 percent is a good target level. I have made a capacitance moisture meter (Arduino based) and will input the actual moisture contents in a week or so.
We are an 8 unit condo and pay for water. I will be interested to see the water saving when we next do our water use calculations. Given the local cost of water, I expect water savings to exceed the cost of the unit. The level of skill required to install and program is within the grasp of most high school kids. This is something a do-it-yourself person could handle.

The controller was easy to set up and program. I love the ability to receive watering updates, revise programs and water manually from our cell phone app.

Easy to set up. I’m experimenting with smart watering features to see how well that works but the basic programs do exactly what I expected.
