I love these! My hometown hardware store used to carry these

I love these! My hometown hardware store used to carry these, then everything went plastic. I get plastic as the weakest link for freeze breakage but at 100 degrees Fahrenheit plastic stretches apart or the double hose clamps you connect them with crush the connector and it flys apart. These keep a low profile and if needed permit supplemental tightening with no surprises.

This brass hose fitting was the perfect repair for my hose. It was a little snug but works well.

don't work on 5/8 hose

They are a high quality manufactured product but the
lock ring is too small to fit over a 5/8" rubber hose.

Bad fit

I ordered these because the hoses I have are 5/8" ID. These fittings are no different in size to the ones I've bought in the past from the big box stores that are advertised to fit either 5/8 or 3/4" hoses. Yes they will fit 3/4" hose just fine, but NOT 5/8" hose. Very disappointed.
